History of Mimosa Chapter No. 269

| On May 23, 1947, Mimosa Chapter No. 269 was instituted with members of Lovelady Chapter 147 exemplifying the ceremony of initiation, with Sister Elsie W. Winkler as the first Worthy Matron and Brother Charles Yates Greene as the first Worthy Patron. There were 39 charter members. They held their first meeting in the new Catawba Valley No. 217 lodge building on December 11, 1961. Prior to that they met on the second floor of the Cornwell Drug Store. |

Lovelady Chapter No. 147 Lovelady Ch. No. 147 was instituted in 1933 with 50 charter members. In the Spring of 1998 it retired its charter after 75 years of active service and merged with Mimosa Ch. No. 269. |
